0-1-8-5 William Jasper Plymale was twice elected County Surveyor of Jackson County, Oregon.  In 1874 he was elected to the legislature.  He lived where the present day (1960's) post office is located.  A fire once broke out in the David Linn Furniture Factory next door, and his residence was destroyed.  He and his family escaped with only the clothes on their backs.
