0-1-3-2-4 John Milton Plymale was born
November 25th, 1853. In 1883 he married Anna DeMarrow (DeMareau). She was born
September 11th, 1859 and died November 3rd, 1937. She was the daughter of Frances
DeMarrow and America Akers. John Milton Plymale was a farmer and
merchant all his life. He owned and operated a grocery and general merchandise store
at the mouth of Buffalo Creek in Wayne County, West Virginia. He also operated the
local post office with his store for many years until it was discontinued for a rural
route operating from Kenova. John Milton Plymale was a good businessman but he never
turned down the local people for credit when they were in hard circumstances.
John Milton Plymale died in 1925 when the car he was driving went over a
steep hill one mile from his home and landed upside down on the N. & W. Railway.
His twelve year old granddaughter, Virginia Hawkes, was in the car with him, but she fell
out as the car left the road.
He is buried, along with most of his family, in the Ridgelawn Cemetery.
