0-1-1-1-12-1 Sarah Plymale's grandmother on her mother's side was Sarah Phillips. She is though to have been a relative of "Bad" Frank Phillips who was one of the leaders of the McCoys in the Hatfield - McCoy feud. Sarah's father 0-1-1-1-12 David Madison Plymale, was on one of the committees that went into West Virginia to bring back a Hatfield that had killed a McCoy. They are said to have found him and killed him instead of bringing him back for a trial. "Bad" Frank Phillips is said to have done the killing.
